School meets business: New sponsorships for Hofkirchen and Grieskirchen!

Things are going well at the New Middle School (NMS) in Hofkirchen: The “School meets Business” project has been relaunched and brings a breath of fresh air into the connection between theory and practice. How MyDistrict reports, the aim of the initiative is closer cooperation with regional companies in the area and with the Grieskirchen Economic Chamber (WKO). At a ceremony that marked the official starting signal for this new round, WKO director Hans Moser praised the committed work of the teachers as well as the support from the students and teaching companies.

NMS Hofkirchen has been successfully working with companies for almost 20 years. The new project is intended to provide exciting and practical experiences for the students this year too. At the opening ceremony, the project partners got to know each other personally and signed sponsorship certificates and sponsorship contracts.

Sponsor companies and exciting insights

The collaboration brings several sponsoring companies on board. For the second class of the NMS, ETA Heiztechnik GmbH, represented by Michael Kaltenbrunner, and BS Team Farb GmbH, represented by Maria Bell, will take over the sponsorship. This gives students the opportunity to make direct contact with the companies and gain insights into the world of work.

The situation is similar at the Technical Middle School (TNMS) in Grieskirchen, where the first classes in the “We do” project have received their own sponsors from business. The Kreuzmayr carpentry workshop, the Pöttinger metal workshops and the Raiffeisenbank Grieskirchen have taken on sponsorships for the respective classes. Christine Kreuzmayr, Mathias Mössenböck and the Raiffeisenbank representatives, Erwin Schützeneder and Phillip Mooshammer, are already enthusiastic about the cooperation, which actively introduces the students to the world of regional companies. The focus here is on exchange and is intended to arouse young people's interest in the various professional fields, such as Tips reveals.

Cooperations as the key to the future

Projects like “School meets Business” and “We Do” are part of a larger initiative that brings together students and companies across Austria. This form of cooperation has proven itself over the last few decades and helps to strengthen the connection between education and the labor market. Information on other similar projects shows that networking between schools and companies is very popular not only in Grieskirchen, but also in many other regions. Studies show that such collaborations help students to make their own career choices more specifically and to prepare for working life at an early stage, as the dossier from bildungsserver.de comprehensively presented.

Overall, these projects impressively show how important the exchange between educational institutions and business is. Today's young people are tomorrow's skilled workers, and having a direct line to companies makes it easier for them to enter professional life. So, here’s to good collaboration and exciting insights for the students!
