Big fire in Dornbirn: residential complex evacuated and uninhabitable!

A dramatic situation occurred on October 18, 2025 in Dornbirn, when a fire in a residential complex with 38 apartments caused great excitement. The incident was reported at 1:15 p.m. on Erlosenstrasse. A vehicle fire was originally reported near the residential complex, but it quickly emerged that the fire originated in a ground floor apartment, more precisely on the terrace where a burning two-wheeler was parked. A neighbor tried to put out the fire before it spread, but in vain.

The flames quickly spread to the two floors above, prompting a complete evacuation of the entire condominium. Due to the dense development, access for the fire brigade and police was extremely difficult. However, thanks to the quick action of the Dornbirn fire department, the fire was brought under control in time before it spread to other parts of the building. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported in the incident. The affected apartment is now completely destroyed and uninhabitable, and residents of the two upper apartments are also advised not to stay there.

Evacuation measures and investigations

The evacuation measure was carried out preventively to ensure the safety of residents. “In such cases, quick action is required,” says a fire department spokesman. “We don’t want to put anyone in danger.” The police immediately began investigating the exact cause of the fire in order to find out exactly what led to the fire. The origins are currently unclear, which makes clarification all the more important.

As vorarlberg.orf.at reports, the security situation in residential complexes is always a sensitive issue. Statistical data shows that fires often break out due to technical defects or improper use of equipment. The need for effective fire protection precautions is particularly evident here.

Fire protection in focus

Fire safety statistics provide important insights into the causes and consequences of fires. According to feuertrutz.de, there are a large number of statistics in Germany, but a uniform overview is still missing. Current data and regular updates on fire-related incidents can help improve preventive measures and ensure the protection of life and property.

The events in Dornbirn are an impressive example of how important a rapid emergency response is and how essential preventative fire protection measures are in residential complexes. The fire brigade at the scene did their best to prevent an even worse disaster.
