Future Brunnenfeld: City presents development plan – your vote counts!

Yesterday, October 16, 2025, the city of Bludenz invited people to the presentation of the development plan for Brunnenfeld. Numerous interested people gathered in the village club's clubhouse, very close to the sports field, to find out more about the planned development of their district. Mayor Simon Tschann and city councilor Joachim Weixlbaumer are behind this project, which results from the district development process from 2019 to 2023.

At the event it became clear that the city would like to preserve the village character of Brunnenfeld in the future. Tschann emphasized the importance of preserving the character of the district while at the same time enabling orderly development. Weixlbaumer explained the challenges associated with creating the development plan and how the design takes into account the various interests of local residents. The development plan will create a structural basis for the future development of the area, particularly in the areas of undeveloped land in the center and the peripheral areas with large residential developments that have emerged in recent decades.

Participation is required

A central point of the event was citizen participation. Those present had the opportunity to ask questions and make their comments. In order to integrate the collected ideas and suggestions from citizens, the draft development plan will be published on the city of Bludenz's homepage for four weeks. Citizens are invited to submit written suggestions for changes or additions to the plan. The city administration has undertaken to examine these suggestions and, if necessary, incorporate them before making the final decision.

Looking into the future

The development plan is scheduled to be completed in 2025 before it is forwarded to the state government for approval. The starting signal for the implementation of the plan could then be given in spring 2026. Bludenz would like to create long-term prospects for Brunnenfeld and at the same time offer the residents a place with a green flair and a high quality of life.
