Pinzgau Duck Race: 30,000 euros collected for social projects!

The Pinzgau Duck Race 2025 was a complete success and once again proved how much passion the community puts into social projects. On Sunday, September 7th, tens of thousands of spectators gathered in Thumersbacher Park in Zell am See to experience the spectacle. Organized by the Lions Club Zell am See, the organizers managed to collect an impressive 30,000 euros for various social projects in Pinzgau. How meinkreis.at reported, this was made possible by numerous ticket buyers, premium duck owners as well as sponsors and partners, all of whom showed great commitment.

What would a duck race be without a little competition? The event featured online voting of the premium ducks, inviting attendees to vote for their favorites. With an impressive 718 votes, the Gasthof zur Post from Maishofen took first place, followed by Vespa Alp Days and Hotel Sonnberg Hinterglemm. The premium duck race also had its own winners: the duck from Volksbank Zell am See was the first to cross the finish line.

Prizes and winners

As a crowning achievement, the top projects not only received the praise they deserved, but also something tangible: the main prize, a donation check for 5,000 euros, goes to a selected social project in the region. In addition, 150 winning ducks were determined in the lucky duck race, the results of which were published on the entenlaufen.net website.

The Lions Club Zell am See, which organizes the event, is known for its commitment to social issues. The team not only supports the local community, but also listens to international concerns. For example, eye clinics in developing countries are supported and glasses collection campaigns are carried out worldwide. The club is also committed to people in need, seniors, disabled people and many other social projects to improve everyone's life, as shown on their website lions-zellamsee.at can be read.

Another highlight of the club is the annual flea market. However, due to challenges, this had to be canceled in 2025. Nevertheless, the Lions Club remains true to its mission and ensures that help can continue to flow even without this event.

The Pinzgau Duck Race 2025 has shown that collective effort and enjoyment of competition can bring a breath of fresh air to social projects even in difficult times. It will be interesting to see what the next edition brings! The enthusiasm of the participants and the generosity of the supporters make us optimistic about the future.
