Gasteinertal celebrates inclusion: Promenteus 2025 for the clinic and wood turnery!
On October 9, 2023, the Gastein Valley was able to draw attention to itself twice. In the festive atmosphere of the Salzburg Residence, the Bad Gastein Hospital and the Angerer wood turning shop from Dorfgastein were awarded the coveted “Promenteus 2025”. This award recognizes companies that are fully committed to the professional integration of people with disabilities, which is more important than ever these days. The award ceremony was organized by Pro Mente Salzburg and took place for the 19th time, which underlines the long-standing tradition and importance of this honor.
But what exactly is the Promenteus Prize? The prize has been awarded since 1999 and aims to honor personalities and companies that are committed to employing people with disabilities with a spirit of innovation and a sense of responsibility. This year, around 300 invited guests from business, politics and culture found their way to the event, which shows the social interest in this topic. The event received honorary protection from the Salzburg state governor.
Honorable awards
The Bad Gastein Clinic shone in the “Successful Integration into the Labor Market” category. Karin Hubert, the deputy head of the economic directorate, is proud that the clinic has employed people with disabilities six times for almost 30 years. “The support from Pro Mente Salzburg’s work assistance is an important pillar,” she emphasizes. This close collaboration shows how successful integration can be when you have the right partners at your side.
The Angerer wood turning shop, on the other hand, was successful in the “Cooperation partners from business” category. Owner Dietfried Angerer has maintained a close cooperation with Pro Mente Salzburg for three decades. “We regularly award orders to the ‘Reflex’ facility. For us it’s about more than just a typical customer-supplier relationship,” emphasizes Angerer. This lived partnership is an excellent example of cooperation in the region.
An important partner: NEBA
As part of the event, attention was also drawn to the NEBA work assistance, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. It offers valuable support for people with disabilities in finding and securing a job. Since the Promenteus Prize was first awarded, over 150 companies that are committed to the well-being of their fellow human beings have been honored.
The awarding of the Promenteus Prize once again shows how important it is to assume social responsibility and actively live inclusion. Bad Gastein Hospital and Drechslerei Angerer are examples of a positive development in professional integration that extends far beyond the Gastein Valley. My district reports about this success story as well Pro Mente Salzburg, who initiated the prize.
