What an exciting year for ultra runner Elisabeth Weissenbrunner from LG Innviertel! Last weekend, the athlete crowned her impressive season with an overall victory in the prestigious 2025 ABU series. At the final event in Seekirchen am Wallersee, she took second place in the daily ranking and can now look forward to first place in the overall ranking for women. After seven challenging races, she not only achieved a great result, but also won the hearts of many sports enthusiasts.
Weissenbrunner, who was in poor health at the beginning of the week, did not let herself be defeated. Her goal was to run as long as possible. Crossing the finish line after 120 kilometers was correspondingly emotional, and the support of friends and teammates made it a special experience. Together with Michael Grubauer and Fabian Kerschbaumer, she also secured victory in the team competition, which makes the success for LG Innviertel even more special. In total, she covered an impressive 100 yards, 670.6 kilometers and 10,590 meters in altitude during the season. A truly remarkable achievement!
