Around the first climate conference in 1985, international pressure grew on politicians to take clear measures to combat rising greenhouse gas emissions. A study from this time predicted that the consequences of global warming would occur much sooner than many initially thought. Unfortunately, after almost three decades, various efforts have not yet been reflected in a significant reduction in greenhouse gases - since the start of the UN climate conferences, these have increased by around 60 percent. This circumstance makes it all the more important to act actively now and promote exchange Researchers emphasize.

Overall, the anniversary event in Villach shows that the issue of climate protection remains urgent. Historical reviews, combined with future-oriented discussions, could be the key to not only creating awareness, but also developing concrete approaches to action. So let's see this as an opportunity to turn things around and better protect our planet for future generations.
