Kärnten Laufen: Colorful night at Lake Wörthersee with record participants!
On August 30, 2025, Wörthersee was the scene of a colorful spectacle that attracted both sports enthusiasts and families. It was the 24th edition of “Kärnten Läuft”, as part of which the “Wiener Städtische Night Run” took place. Over 850 runners competed under the clear night sky and experienced a run full of splendor and humor. There was great excitement as the event combines excellence in sport with a first-class family experience. My Klagenfurt reports that the Night Run started at 7 p.m. and many of the participants appeared in creative costumes, including animal and cartoon characters like Super Mario and the Flintstones.
The event began with a celebratory opening speech and a press conference, which was already well received. A free cabaret by the Maschek duo also ensured a good atmosphere among the audience. The participants were in a good mood and ready to give their best performances. Stefanie Kurath shone among the women and took first place with a time of 15:08 minutes. In the men's race, Tobias Rattinger won with 12:27 minutes, putting the spectators to a collective test of enthusiasm.
Teams and awards
The Wiener Städtische team was the largest team at the event with 116 participants. In addition to the victories already mentioned, the fastest teams in the male, female and mixed categories also received awards. Creative outfits were also awarded, and the company with the largest business team was particularly honored. Carinthia Runs emphasizes that the positive reviews of the event showed that the combination of sporting competition and social celebration was well received.
