In the Burgenland League, the ball rolled again in Oberpullendorf on Saturday, September 14, 2025, where SC Oberpullendorf fought for important points in a duel against USV Halbturn. With a convincing 2-0 win, the promoted team consolidated its place in second place in the table and thus remains in the race for the top, while USV Halbturn had to play a difficult game, marked by serious injuries to its players.

With this victory, the Oberpullendorfers are now on 10 points in the table and are already looking at four wins in a row, as coach Staffler announced in the press. “The atmosphere in the team is simply great,” said the coach full of confidence. SC Oberpullendorf is currently the first pursuer of league leaders Mattersburg and shows that with a strong team you can keep up in the Burgenland league.
Injury drama at half turn
The encounter was particularly bitter for USV Halbturn. Section head Werner Hoffmann expressed concern about the injuries sustained by Schneider and Leiner, who had to be taken to the hospital. The two top performers will be missing and the club will now have to pay more attention to squad planning. In this difficult phase it is particularly challenging for the USV, as it was hardly possible to set any offensive accents.
If you look at the next matches, coach Christian Staffler's team could continue to hunt for points, while Halbturn has to consider a strategic new beginning in order to stabilize the sinking ship.
