On September 28, 2025 the time had finally come: the ÖVP Purbach invited people to the traditional Oktoberfest. In a festive atmosphere characterized by friendly gatherings and cheerful music, many citizens came together to spend a few sociable hours and enjoy the autumnal atmosphere. The event took place in the heart of the community and was a highlight in Purbach's events calendar.

The organization of the festival was crowned with success. Whether pretzels, sausages or freshly tapped beer – the culinary delicacies left nothing to be desired. Parents with children, seniors and young people came together to celebrate traditional Austrian cosiness. The local businesses were doing good business and the atmosphere was more than just contagious.

A celebratory occasion for Rust

At the same time, the neighboring community of Rust celebrated a very special event. The Rust Stork Club celebrated its 30th anniversary. There was also an exhibition in the Kremayrhaus, which will be on view until October 26, 2025. Art enthusiasts and historians can learn a lot about the history of storks in the region. The exhibition is part of an extensive program highlighting the importance of storks to the community.

The citizens of Rust can also expect an important vote on October 19th. The introduction of a speed limit of 30 km/h in the local area is under discussion. It remains to be seen how the decision will affect traffic and the quality of life in Rust. What is particularly noteworthy is that this stork season, 26 pairs of storks bred in Rust and successfully raised around 70 young storks. These magnificent birds have already made their way south, but their return next spring is eagerly awaited.
