The focus is on the fact that Vienna will be climate-neutral by 2040, including an expansion of photovoltaic systems and the creation of new parking and green areas.

Another important step within the SPÖ is the appointment of Jörg Neumayer as the new state party secretary. He follows Barbara Novak, who is now entering the city government as a new financial councilor. Neumayer, 40 years old, has been a Vienna municipal council and member of the state parliament of the SPÖ since 2015. Mayor Ludwig congratulated Neumayer on this appointment and emphasized his experience and commitment: "I am convinced that Jörg Neumayer will perform the task with competence and political feeling," said Ludwig in his speech.
Neumayer has set itself the goal of positioning the SPÖ Vienna as a strong, modern and future -oriented force. Kathrin Gaál remains Vice Mayor in the new coalition, while other long -standing city councilors such as Jürgen Czernohorszky and Peter Hacker also keep their departments.
