Ceremonial opening: New daycare center in Maria Saal sets standards!

On October 1, 2025, the new and modern daycare center was ceremoniously opened in Maria Saal. The focus was not only on the inauguration ceremony, but also on the exchange about the importance of good early childhood care. “It is important that our children receive the best possible support from an early age,” says the camaraderie of local politicians. In addition to informative health lectures, there will also be a health fair with 20 regional exhibitors who will offer exciting insights into topics relating to health and well-being.

For the gourmet visitors, it's worth a visit to the Streetfood & Wine Festival in Klagenfurt, which takes place from October 10th to 12th. Here, over 20 food trucks and trailers will serve international delicacies from different countries, including Creole, Thai and Filipino dishes as well as sweet temptations from the Iberian Peninsula and Amsterdam.

Social projects in Wernberg

Not far from Maria Saal, Caritas Carinthia's “welt.garten” supports long-term unemployed people in returning to the job market. This valuable project has a permanent place in the community and has been helping people regain their footing since 2010. Participants cultivate a vegetable, herb and orchard and sell their organic products, which are financially supported by the State of Carinthia and AMS Carinthia. Seven long-term unemployed women and men are currently working in various employment relationships at welt.garten.
