Vernissage in Mattersburg: Art for breast cancer prevention inspires!

A very special vernissage was recently opened in Mattersburg, which was not only of interest to visitors interested in art, but also serves a good cause. The practice of gynecologist Susanne Kunz showed the works of nine talented artists who presented their art under the motto “Art for a good cause”. The event took place in collaboration with Krebshilfe Burgenland, which always strives to raise awareness of breast cancer prevention. Loud meinkreis.at Senior physician Doris Glocknitzer-Mad, who heads the breast health center in Eisenstadt, was present as a guest of honor.

The opening attracted numerous visitors who not only admired the works of art but also enjoyed culinary delicacies. A special highlight: 20 percent of the sales proceeds from each work of art go directly to the Pink Ribbon Campaign of Krebshilfe Burgenland, which is committed to supporting breast cancer patients. The exhibition will be open during ordination hours until December 31, 2025 and offers everyone a great opportunity to combine art and charity.

Actions for a good cause

The opening is just one of many events taking place in the region to raise awareness of the issue of breast cancer. On October 9th, a cinema evening took place in the Diesel cinema, which was organized for the 13th time by Pink Ribbon Ambassador Elisabeth Schranz and the Soroptimistclub Südburgenland Stegersbach. Around 600 participants, mostly women, supported the Burgenland Cancer Aid with their entry fees and experienced the Burgenland premiere of the film “Gloria!” an entertaining evening.

Another highlight was the Pink Ribbon Day of Action on October 12, 2024 at the EO Oberwart, which offered a comprehensive program of solidarity and education about cancer prevention. In addition to a charity raffle with over 500 prizes, visitors were also able to try out wigs from the Klee Wig Studio and receive musical entertainment from a BAfEP choir. Here too, the importance of cancer prevention was emphasized through interviews with experts. The distribution of pink wax roses as a sign of solidarity with breast cancer patients received particular attention. Educational offerings and networking

But it's not just events that are the focus of the Pink Ribbon movement. Education and enlightenment are also central concerns. On pinkribbon-deutschland.de There are various online discussion groups and seminar offerings that are specifically designed for public institutions and companies. Under the title “learning to think positively” specialist information on cancer prevention and possible prevention measures is provided. The practical exchange and the opportunity for networking offer valuable approaches for many interested parties.

Overall, it is gratifying to see how committed the community in the region is to raising awareness and support for breast cancer. It remains to be hoped that many more events and initiatives will follow in order to make a joint contribution to raising awareness and education.
