BMX talents from Vorarlberg ready for the World Cup in Copenhagen!
Tissot Velodrom, Grenchen, Schweiz - The preparations for the BMX World Cup are in full swing. The Vorarlberg BMX state squad came together in the Tissot Velodrom in Grenchen, Switzerland, in order to optimally prepare for the upcoming event. Under the guidance of squad coach Noah Muther, the athletes Felix Peschl, Lasse Vallazza, Feanor Marte, Paikea Marte and Valentin Muther are busy training to further increase their achievements. Particularly exciting: Felix Peschl and Lasse Vallazza are testing an 8-meter starting system for the first time that opens up new opportunities.
The team is enthusiastic about the training sessions so far. "We record top performances and the mood in the team is just great," said Muther. The next challenge is already waiting in Copenhagen, Denmark, where you will start with the Austrian national team. The preparations are in full swing and there is no reason not to be optimistic.
BMX World Championships-A look at history
The BMX racing World Championships have a long tradition that goes back to 1978 when the first event of this kind took place in Indianapolis. Since 1996, the championships have been held annually by the Radsport World Association UCI in changing locations. From 2024, the focus will only be on the world champions of the cycling class Standard (20 inches), which is an exciting challenge for the athletes.
To this day, 28 World Championships have been organized under the UCI. The years are heavily frequented, and during the past few years participation has increased particularly influenced by the increasing popularity of the BMX sports. Before the World Championships, the UCI BMX Racing World Cup 2025 offers an exciting platform for the drivers. The first round took place on June 14th and 15th in Sarrian, France. A record number of over 350 drivers was recorded here, which impressively underlines the growing enthusiasm for BMX racing. The French drivers in particular shone, not least because of their medal winnings at the Olympic Games.
In the course of the season, there are also other competitions, such as in Papendal, Netherlands, and in Santiago del Estero, Argentina. BMX sports are very popular worldwide and attracts athletes from all corners of the world, while the preparers in Austria are fully involved.
With a strong team spirit, intensive training and the focus on the upcoming World Cup, the Vorarlberg BMX drivers are well positioned to access their best performances.
