Rieder Volksfest 2025: Festive start and exciting innovations!

Things will soon be colorful again in Ried! From August 28th to September 7th, the Rieder Volksfest opens its doors and delights young and old with a diverse program. This year the anticipation and expectations are particularly high, as the event has now established itself as one of the highlights in the Upper Austrian event calendar. MyDistrict reports that the folk festival will be divided into two halves: the first part will take place from August 28th to 31st, while the second part, which also includes the Rieder Messe, will be held from September 4th to 7th.

The opening of the Rieder Messe on September 4th will be carried out by Federal Chancellor Christian Stocker. More than 500 exhibitors from twelve nations present their innovations here, with the four-pillar concept of the trade fair covering a wide range of topics: agriculture, Austro Tier, autumn fair and of course the folk festival itself.

A look at the pillars of the festival

What can visitors expect this year? The first pillar, agriculture, is rounded off with exhibition areas, some of which are already fully booked. Here the focus is on the future of tractors under the motto “Tractor 2040”. The focus is on innovative approaches to alternative drive technologies.

The second pillar, Austro Tier, brings exciting topics such as digitalization and automation in animal husbandry. In addition to informative lectures, visitors can look forward to popular animal shows, especially for cattle. Upper Austria is also disease-free, so numerous exhibitions are possible. For horse lovers there are offers such as western riding and pony riding as well as the elite foal show.

Under the third pillar, the autumn trade fair, visitors will find a wide range of tools, machines and accessories for the home, garden and farm. The Schmidt’s Weyland-Steiner Craft World stand is new in Hall 8, where you can find out everything about living, enjoyment and fashion.

The fourth pillar, the folk festival, will open with a festive parade on August 28th at 6 p.m. There are big celebrations in the festival tent and the wine hall, while the covered Edelweiss Alm ensures cosiness. The numerous rides provide the thrill - including the “Fire & Ice roller coaster” and the “Maxi Dance” attraction. The Autodrom Team World Championships will also take place on August 29th, for which interested parties can already register at volksfestried.at/autodrom.

Opening times and tickets

You should already keep an eye on the opening times: the folk festival awaits visitors on August 28th and 29th from 3 p.m., on August 30th from 1 p.m. and on August 31st and from September 4th to 7th from 11 a.m. The Rieder Messe is open from September 4th to 7th from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets are available both online riedermesse.at/ticket as well as available on site.
