Under the direction of the talented Marlena Marie Grübl, a native of Braunauer, the old story of Hugo von Hofmannsthal's “Jedermann” is told from a fresh female perspective. According to Tips the film examines the figure of the "Buhlschaft" and brings it closer to a modern public.
Marlena Marie Grübl, born in Braunau in 1999, can look back on an impressive career. She started the stage experience at the age of eleven and has been in front of the camera regularly since the age of fifteenth. With a master's degree in psychology and ongoing studies in film and directed at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences, she seems to be on the best way to enrich the domestic film scene. She has been doing her passion for Hofmannsthal's work since childhood.
a moving story
The short film "Buhle" tells the story of Louise Glaser, a 25-year-old who lives in Salzburg in the 1900s. Her encounter with the charismatic Laurenz Habsberg leads to an intensive relationship, the passion, freedom and striving for self -definition. "After more than 100 years everyone, it's time to tell their story," explains Grübl.
The young director was able to win a top -class cast for the film, including Felix Klarze, Larissa Kiers and Sebastian Kempf. The camera work also comes from the talented Denise helmet scrap. The shooting took place not only in Salzburg in May, but also at Katzenberg Castle, where many extras from Braunau contribute to the authenticity of the film.
future plans and support
currently "Buhle" is in post -production, and the festival exploitation is planned for autumn 2025. Grübl hopes to find a production company by the end of the year to further develop the fabric. Your goal is to make either a long feature film or a mini series by summer 2027.
The support of the regional sponsors and the Salzburg State Theater is an important factor for the successful project. "We have a lot of committed people from Braunau who believe in our project," says Grübl about the helpfulness of the community.
The feminist perspective that Grübl brings in their work is particularly paid to discussions about the film and the media. The examination of gender roles and the visibility of women in the film is not new; Nevertheless, it remains a central topic. This is documented, among other things, by the historical “women and film” magazine, which has been illuminating the influence of women in the film area since the 1970s and is committed to a critical questioning of the male-dominated film industry, as on Digitales-deutsches-frauenarchiv.de
