Mattersburg's young filmmaker Francisco Thaller celebrates his premiere!

An exciting evening is ahead: Francisco Thaller, an 18-year-old filmmaker from Mattersburg, presents his second short film “I’m a Psycho”. The premiere will take place today, October 16, 2025, at the Cineplexx Mattersburg. With his latest project, Thaller shows that he has a feel for exciting stories and is not easily stopped when it comes to discovering and shaping the art of film.

The plot of “I’m a Psycho” is as captivating as it is puzzling. Paul, the protagonist, becomes involved in a tricky situation after a short visit to a shop when he comes across two dead bodies and is falsely suspected. With a running time of 25 minutes, the film is aimed at viewers aged 15 and over and has some surprising twists in store.

Versatile talent

Thaller, who graduated from Mattersburg High School in 2023, is no stranger to the film scene. His debut film “Last Man’s Diary”, with which he already won a jury prize at the “Wien X-tra Video and Filmtage 2024”, has brought him a lot of recognition. With “I’m a Psycho” he shows once again that he has a good knack for stories that grip and make you think.

The idea for his new work came about in December 2023 and production took almost two years. Some of the crew members often had a lot on their plate due to other commitments, which extended the filming time to over a year. But the challenges were worth it. Tim Reismüller, who served as assistant director and cameraman, as well as Ivan Rajkovic and Stefan Willi Wang, who shone in the lead roles, contributed significantly to the success of the project.

Visions of the future

The aspiring filmmaker already has other projects in mind and wants to continually improve the quality of his work. Thaller is determined to gain a foothold in the film industry. Studying at the Film Academy in Vienna is on his wish list, but he is aware of the limited places and therefore remains realistic. “I want to stay in the film industry,” he says. “And I plan to try different genres.”

Tonight guests can look forward to an exciting cinema experience at the Cineplexx Mattersburg. The second performance of “I’m a Psycho” will take place on October 24th at the Savio Mattersburg. Fans of Thaller and film enthusiasts should not miss these opportunities!

The passion and commitment that Francisco Thaller puts into his projects is inspiring and gives hope for many more creative works. He has proven that talent and dedication can pave the way to success. We wish him all the best for the premiere and his future endeavors!
