The first residents move into the innovative village in the third!

Aspanggründe, Wien, Österreich - On June 26, 2025 the time had finally come: The first residents have entered the new Village in the third . Mayor Michael Ludwig, district leader Erich Hohenberger and ARE managing director Gerald Beck ceremoniously handed over the keys for this promising new building on the aspangal reasons. Möbelpacker began with the move in of the new tenants on June 23 - a big step for the entire project, which is to offer a total of 2,000 residential units by 2027.

The first two of 17 planned construction projects are already ready for occupancy, including 750 subsidized apartments. This combination of affordability and quality focuses on this project. With an innovative, climate -friendly energy supply that relies on solar power, geothermal energy and district heating, this project could actually have an exemplary character. The largest earth probe in Austria is created here: With 500 probes at up to 150 meters deep, a decisive contribution to sustainable energy supply is made.

focus on sustainability

What is a modern residential complex? The village in the third relies on social and functional mix. Planned infrastructure measures include schools, elementary education and numerous common rooms as well as short distances on public transport. District head Erich Hohenberger encourages all new residents to contact him directly if you have any questions. "We are here to help," says Hohenberger.

Behind this sustainable residential building offensive is also the Federal Government's funding program, which has supported the new construction of climate -friendly residential buildings since March 2023. In addition to the promotion of "climate-friendly new building", there are newly introduced programs such as the Promotion KNN that is supposed to stimulate the construction of inexpensive, climate-friendly apartments. The aim is to drastically reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the building sector.

funding opportunities for builders

In the course of this initiative, builders can benefit from attractive grants that not only result in lower costs for the new building, but also guarantee high quality. Before progress, the program speaks of “Efficiency House 40 or 55”, which requires the exclusion of fossil fuels and the use of renewable energies. Many interested parties, such as the newly married couple Julius and Emilie Schröder, have already benefited from the advantages - their new apartment fulfills the required standards and is added with a quality seal by Kfw .

Julius and Emilie consciously chose an apartment that is operated with an energy -efficient heat pump and is largely made of wood. Your photovoltaic system generates electricity and thus corresponds to the latest climate -protecting standards. "It is great that we could hear from the funding when we looked at the apartment," reports Emilie, who sees the sustainable standards as an investment in the future.

The village in the third, with its clever mix of quality of life and environmental awareness, not only offers a home, but could also serve as a model for future projects across Austria. By 2027 there are 15 other construction projects that should further upgrade the area. So there will still be a lot in motion here, and the first residents are already in the middle of the action!
