Radrenn-Jugend inspires the Vienna Cyclodom on the Danube Island!

Last Sunday, May 25th, the "Wiener Cyclodom" bike race, which was eagerly awaited, took place on the Danube Island. This street omnium competition attracted 140 young talents from all over Austria and offered an exciting program with several disciplines. According to Meinverkirk Collect "Austrian Junior Series".

The competition consisted of three disciplines: a 70-meter sprint, an excretion race and a criterion with intermediate sprints. In the end, anyone who collected the most points in these disciplines could be happy about the victory. The performance of the RLM Vienna (ARBÖ-Askö Rad performance model Vienna), which was able to secure nine podium places, was particularly outstanding. The young athletes Wiro Grill, Ilvie Wafler and the sisters Sophie and Thea Wenschitz shared first place, while two participants took second and third place.

The "Austrian Junior Series", which has been launched by the Austrian Cycling Association since August 2020, aims to offer young racing drivers a platform and to support the season affected by the Covid19 pandemic. From August 2020, a total of twelve races will be on the program in various federal states, including Styria, Upper Austria and Carinthia. Another important event in the youth area is the junior tour in the Upper Austrian Straß im Attergau, which takes place on July 21, 2024. This event is one of the most important young races in Europe and not only attracts local talents, but also international competitors. A total of 144 young drivers from ten nations will compete in 25 teams and fight for the overall victory and important scoring points. Former stars such as Tadej Pogacar and Fabian Cancellara have already started on these routes, which underlines the importance of this competition, such as Rennrad Austria
