Franz Poscharnik, a volunteer at the Red Cross for more than 30 years, and blood donation officers for eleven years, gives us an insight into the pioneering developments. "We currently have between 52 and 55 blood acceptance dates a year," explains Poscharnik. Before the donation, at least two liters of water should be drunk to prepare the body for the donation.
