Motorcycle accident in Leonding: 26-year-old injured after sling!

Leonding, Österreich - A tragic motorcycle accident occurred on July 16, 2025 in Leonding, Linz-Land district. At around 6:25 p.m., a 26-year-old driver from the Steyr-Land district caught in a slight right-hand bend on the L1386. The new motorcycle, which she had recently bought, became a stumbling block due to the wet road conditions. The driver fell, ripped the roadway dangerously and crashed into an approximately 40 cm high tree stump, which led to her injury. Her motorcycle then slipped about two meters into an adjacent stream bed.

Fortunately, the injured handlebar was discovered by a passing car driver who immediately alerted the rescue. It was brought to the University Hospital Linz with indefinite injuries, where further examinations and treatments will be necessary. As the police report, this incident indicates the dangers that exist in wet road conditions and imprecise driving maneuvers for motorcyclists.

On the other hand, the memory of another serious motorcycle accident remains, which occurred on August 14, 2023 between St. Florian and St. Marien. A 36-year-old motorcyclist from the Linz-Land district died in this accident, while two other people were seriously injured. The group of nine motorcyclists were on the St. Marien Landesstraße L1374 when the tragic collision with an oncoming car passed. The motorcyclist was thrown against the windshield by the impact of the impact and only came to lie down 40 meters after the scene of the accident. A motorcycle colleague driving behind him fell due to the parts lying around and was also injured.

The accident that took this serious outcome is reflected in the data on traffic safety. An analysis of the Federal Agency for Road Systems shows that motorcycles represent a high -risk factor in road traffic. Between 2008 and 2017 there were around 28,000 motorcycle accidents in Germany in Germany. In total, 90 % of the people who had an accident were motorcyclists. The number of motorcycle users killed fell by 11 % to 579, but the statistics remain alarming, especially if one takes into account the severity of the injuries - the proportion of seriously injured motorcyclists rose by 1 % to 9,555 in 2017.

The current situation in Linz shows how important it is to raise awareness of the dangers in road traffic and to consider the driving conditions. Motorcyclists, especially in adverse weather conditions, should always act carefully.
