New administration building in Gänserndorf: Modernization starts now!
In the district capital of Gänserndorf, it will be round in the coming months: A newly designed administration building for the district administration (BH) will finally become a reality. The city chief, Lober , who also acts as a member of the state parliament, has campaigned for this future-oriented project for many years. It is particularly gratifying for him that this project is now being implemented in economically challenging times.
The district captain, Claudia Pfeiler-Blach , which has been in office for a little over a year, has actively participated in the planning phase. It emphasizes that the voices and wishes of the employees were able to flow into the planning. "It is important that everyone can work well and constructively," she emphasizes and looks optimistically into the future. The employees themselves support the project 100 percent, which describes the planning of the move for 155 people as "meticulously".
conversion and accessibility
The district administration is the last authority in Lower Austria that is being renovated. From 2025, the existing building, which no longer meets the requirements of a modern public building, will be rebuilt for the next two years. Pfeiler-Blach provides practical insight into the planned renovations: This includes a new, accessible entrance area that IM listed part of the house is to be created, and a thermal renovation of the facade. The building is also green, which not only improves the appearance, but also to contribute to climate neutrality.
With an investment of 24.4 million euros, the Federal Disabled Equality Act (BGStG) is taken into account, which has been in force since 2006 and aims to participate equally with disabilities in social life. Barrier -free building increases the participation of participation and must correspond to strict ÖNORMs. The existing parking lot will be resealed and replaced to create enough space for future needs.
practical measures during the construction period
Before the construction start, the 145 employees will move to a barrier -free alternative quarters, which is provided in containers. There, the citizens' service should continue seamlessly without restrictions. The alternative accommodation will be equipped with two waiting areas and sufficient parking spaces. Interestingly, only half of the jobs are required by a desksharing system, which will save around 500,000 euros in costs.
The final new location of the district administration will be at Rathausplatz 4b. The main entrance will be moved forward in 2027 to increase visibility to the city. This not only becomes more modern, but also offers better connection and accessibility for the citizens. The project is considered pioneering for the administrative area and is a bright spot in times of uncertainty.
