Völkermarkter talents shine at Prima La Musica in Vienna!

Völkermarkt, Österreich - The musical youth of Carinthia impressively cleared up at this year's national competition "Prima La Musica". The competition took place in Vienna from May 29 to June 9, 2025 and gathered 815 talents from all over Austria and South Tyrol. Cornelia Ranninger, which shone on the flute, and Clemens Pinter on the accordion, both were able to deliver considerable performance. They each achieved 77.8 points and a fantastic second place. While Ranninger was supported by Roswitha Krainer-Marschnig, Pinter had an equally capable mentor with Stefan Kollmann at his side. A look at "Prima La Musica"

"Prima La Musica" is not only the largest youth music competition in Austria, but also an important part of "Music of Youth", which celebrated its 30th anniversary this year. The aim of the competition is to encourage children and adolescents to participate and promote musical talents. Young musicians from Austria, South Tyrol and even Liechtenstein can participate as long as they have their main residence in Austria

A total of 461 soloists, 348 ensemble participants and even six accompaniment that received an assessment took part in the competition. Carinthia was represented with 60 participants in 50 ratings. The jury evaluated the services of candidates aged 10 to 21, which were able to measure themselves in various categories such as wood, brass and impact instruments, string and plucking instruments as well as vocal ensembles.

The fact that 200 soloists and 68 ensembles were awarded a gold medal was particularly gratifying. A total of 80 titles "federal winner" were awarded in the course of the competition. In order to make the whole thing even more exciting, the competition was streamed live, which means that around 20,000 spectators were able to pursue the fantastic achievements of the young musicians. Peter Hofmayer, the federal manager of "Music of Youth", emphasized the passion and enthusiasm of young talents that inspired not only the stage, but also the audience.

"Prima La Musica" is carried out in various federal states, which contributes to the diversity and promoting regional music scene.
