Three youngsters in Spittal: shop theft causes excitement!

In Spittal on the Drau, the police became active after investigations into two shop thelots. Three young people from the region are suspected of having specifically removed perfumes, cosmetics and other goods. These acts took place on May 16, 2025 and June 24, 2025, with the two girls aged 14 and 15 years of age when their first thefts were admitted. At the second crime scene, another 15-year-old girl was added, who supported the other two, such as East Tyrol Online

The young people seem to have developed a precise approach. So the goods were stowed away in a bag brought with them before they left the business unnoticed. After the crime, they divided the stolen articles among themselves and used them for their own use. The resulting total damage is a low four -digit euro amount. After completing the investigation, the Klagenfurt public prosecutor's office will be informed accordingly in order to take legal action, as well as my district.

insight into youth crime

The incidents in Spittal also have a light on the broader problem of youth crime in Austria. According to [bpb.de] (https://www.bpb.de/themen/recht- Justice/gangsterlaeufer/203562/jugendkriminalitaet- figures-fakten/), youth crime is mainly a male phenomenon, but studies show that girls also become increasingly punishable. Statistics show that about 43.7 % of the male and 23.6 % of female students between the ages of 13 and 18 years have committed crimes. While serious forms of youth crime are rare, many young people tend to commit lighter crimes.

Another interesting aspect is that the majority of young people hire their behavior with growing up. Crime is not a natural phenomenon and the causes should be focused in order not only to treat symptoms. Under these circumstances, better socially political orientation could be the solution to reduce such offenses in the future.

The current acts in Spittal show, however, that even in the calm regions of Austria, crime in the young sections of the population is indispensable. It remains to be seen how these cases will develop and which signal they send to society and the responsible bodies.
