Change in Margaret: Greens set new accents for the district!

In Margareten there is a fresh wind: the district experienced a remarkable color change in the district chief in the last election. The SPÖ, under the leadership of the completed district chief Silvia Jankovic, had to give up its dominance after many years. But what has happened since then? Christoph Lipinski, the new district manager, not only missed an election campaign, but also lost the district office in the last elections. Now he is trying to make a losing terrain by forcing new ideas, such as neighboring parking, which were previously blocked. In addition, he uses information events in front of subway stations to get in touch with the citizens: inside. The SPÖ has not had it easy in the past, but how will the new strategy work?

A new player has entered the stage: Michael Luxenberger from the Greens brings fresh swing to the district parliaments. With the opening of the Barbara Prammer Park, he presents a first highlight of his term. The park replaces a planned high -rise building and is an important step to improve the quality of life in the densely populated area. "More green areas are at the top of my agenda," explains Luxenberger. He even decided to transfer the meetings in the district parliament by livestream to create more transparency.

challenges for the future

Despite these successes, there are still many questions to clarify, especially with regard to the financing of the renovation of the Margaretenplatz, which could be crucial for Luxenberger's term. This remains a major uncertainty factor that the new responsible people have to tackle.

In addition, a new queer center in Ramperstorffergasse was recently opened, very close to a meeting point for the right -wing extremist identities. This initiative aims to overcome the "mutual ignorance" and create a space for the queer community, which is particularly important in these challenging times.

The team for Margareten

An important part of the success is the strong community within the Greens in Margareten. “Team for Margareten” is actively committed to the interests of the district. Among other things, members are not only committed to environmental protection and lively promenade, but also for the promotion of art and culture. Michael Luxenberger leads the team, which is made up of various committed people:

  • Petra Tierscherl - focus on clean environment and probably from pets
  • Theresa Schneckenreither and Nicolas Pawloff - Support for economic and lively promenade
  • Julia Fritz - concerns for cyclists: inside and memory culture
  • Raphael Neuwirth - Use for fair distribution of public space and end of the passage traffic
  • esin Akkaya - promotion of coexistence as well as art and culture
  • Simon Gazivoda-Support of the BKS community and queer community
  • Andrea Soleder - Focus on Liveable Grätzl and Citizens: Interior participation

This large number of approaches shows that the Margaret district is not just about politics, but about real, tangible improvement for the residents: inside. With a strong team and a clear focus on the needs of the citizens: a lot of work on the inside is waiting for the new decision -makers.

A look into the future shows: Margaret still has a lot ahead of them, and the new politicians: Inside, they seem ready to tackle this challenge. Let's be curious how the situation will develop.
