New opening in Florianihof: Breakfast Mecca for Josefstadt!

in the Josefstadt, more precisely in Florianigasse, the traditional Café Florianihof has opened its doors again after a turbulent year. With a new concept and fresh wind in the luggage, the new owner Jendrik Lowens wants to convert the former coffee house into a popular breakfast restaurant. After the temporary closure among the operators of the Reznicek restaurant, who failed with their concept, Lowens hopes to create the turn now.

The café, which is noticeable due to extensive renovations, continues the spirit of the Viennese coffee house tradition, while it is presenting itself in a modern way. Lowens, who brings 12 years of experience in gastronomy, has completely revised not only the interior, but also the menu. Among other things, the avocado bread and fresh salmon dishes that rely on regional and biological products, such as eggs from an organic farm from Lower Austria, are recommended. This focus on sustainability and quality also emphasizes meinbezirk.at.

Review of the predecessors

But why did the Café Florianihof have to close in between? The operators of the Reznicek restaurant, who took over the inactive café almost a year ago, pulled the line because the high double load and the effort for the project had become intolerable in relation to success. Simon Schubert, co-operator of the Reznicek, explained that the original concept with a traditional coffee house that also offered lunch menus was soon switched to evening operation with an extensive wine list. Nevertheless, there was no breakthrough, which led to the final closure, as the press reported.

With the opening on May 1st, Lowens is optimistic and has already set up a new Shanigarten that invites you to linger. The opening times are daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., which establishes the café as a point of contact for a cozy breakfast and brunch. In the long term, Lowens is aiming to establish the Florianihof as a popular breakfast restaurant - a decent piece of work, but with fresh commitment and a clear vision it is on the right track for the time being.

The new offers contain homemade pestos, jams and juices - a delicious mix that distinguishes the café from others and should address both younger and older guests. For everyone who wants to learn more about the new breakfast and brunch concept, a visit to the website of the Café Florianihof
