Traffic chaos in Feldkirch: Kapfbrücke and new association bridge closed!

Feldkirch, Österreich - Feldkirch faces a number of traffic disruptions that will face drivers and pedestrians in the coming weeks. From July 14th to August 8, 2025, several key points are closed to traffic, including the Kapfbrücke and the new unification bridge. These measures are carried out as part of urgently needed excavation work in Duxgasse and the connection of the Schaanzweg streets and in Buchholz, such as MEINDECHIRD.AT reported.

The current locks also bring restrictions on foot and cycling. The L 53 Bangser Straße is completely blocked during the period mentioned. Pedestrians and cyclists are therefore dependent on alternative routes. Depending on residents and delivery services are led via Hämmerlestraße as well as L 60 Nofler Straße and L 53 Bangser Straße. Foot and bike traffic is also led via Zösmairstraße, Pfarrer-Weißhaar-Straße, Kreuzäckerweg, Egelseestrasse and on Wasen.

public transport and diversions

However, the bus connections remain upright for commuters and passengers. Bus line 403 is diverted between Toster's church and cat tower, which means that some stops such as Burgweg and Vorarlberghalle can no longer be operated. Instead, this line also stops at the Alberweg and Tisis LKH stops. Line 404 users must also expect changes, as this is diverted between the cat tower and Nofels church. Stops such as Blumenau and Steinbruchgasse cannot be approached here either. For the affected passengers, lines 401 and 402 are available as alternatives.

The reasons for these extensive construction work are the expansion and renewal of electricity lines by Vorarlberger Energieneze GmbH to raise the regional power grid to the next level. This work is inevitable to ensure security of supply in the region.

traffic forecasts and real -time information

If you go on a trip, you should keep an eye on the current conditions. With ADAC Maps there are comprehensive information on traffic flow and disorders. This application allows the planning of routes and offers real -time data and forecasts for future descents. For example, users are informed about current construction sites and potential dangerous situations such as smoothness or storm warnings and can plan better.

The entire traffic situation remains exciting, and it is advisable to regularly check the traffic situation in order to avoid unnecessary detours. Despite the challenges, we hope for a rapid implementation of the work, so that all road users can soon be on the road again.
