Alpine accident on the Großglockner: Solved mountain climber saved!
In the early morning hour of June 9, 2025, a tragic alpine accident occurred on the Großglockner. Two climbers, a 25-year-old and a 31-year-old, wanted to take an e-bike tour from Austria to the Lucknerhütte and continued their way towards Glockner. According to Osttirol online started her hike at around 4:00 a.m.
After reaching the snow limits, the two athletes changed tourists to get up further. The 31-year-old was equipped with crampons and pimples and went into the Glockner flank. The misfortune happened at around 7:30 a.m.: the experienced mountaineer crashed between 250 and 300 meters and remained motionless at an altitude of about 3,500 meters.
