Landeck, Österreich - The Tyrolean specialist school for tourism and trade in Landeck presented the highlights of the school year on June 27, 2025. The event was all about creative cuisine, as the additional qualification "Junior Master Chef" was offered for the third time. This innovative project is aimed at pupils in tourism schools and vocational schools and has proven itself since its introduction in 2023. The "Junior Master Chef" is a valuable additional qualification that is counted towards later training as a graduate kitchen champion.

After all, this training conveys modern and practical content such as creative cooking techniques, sustainable product use and demanding food design. During the presentation, the participants showed: Inside, who were selected by the cooking instructors, their skills under the critical eyes of the jury. However, this was not the only challenge: the prospective cooks had to invest a lot of time in their free time in order to prepare optimally for the theoretical and practical exams and the diploma thesis.

The "Junior Master Chef" project is realized in close cooperation between WiFi Austria/Tyrol and the Austrian cooking association. This cooperation aims to convey broad knowledge and practical skills that are essential for a successful career as a cook. The content of the course is diverse and range from goods science to food safety to kitchen organization and management.

For pupils, a total of 160 hours of additional qualification are on the plan, which focus on regionality, sustainability and modern stratification techniques. Practical units and an internship in a recognized company complete the training. The training team consists of experienced graduate kitchen masters as well as recognized chefs and cooks who give all participants with valuable insights into the world of cuisine.

The success of the Tyrolean kitchen champions: Inside, the Tyrolean team shone at the "Juniorskills Austria 2025" in Klagenfurt with an impressive result - twice gold, six times silver and once bronze. In addition, the participants were presented for the Austrian Skills on October 29, where Tyrol finally starts again with a fully occupied team. For the winner, participation in the Worldskills attracts, while the runner -up can look forward to the EuroSkills.

In addition, each of the pupils competed in the Tyrolskills was able to win a golden achievement badge. In the midst of these successes, Lea even managed to win the nationwide speech competition - a real sign for the comprehensive training and the talent of the students: inside.

In the coming school year 2024/25, the prospective gastronomy talents can look forward to an exciting innovation: For the first time, the additional training to become a “young barkeeper” is offered. But that's not all! Syndicism courses such as boysmmelier, young barista, vegan cuisine and the title "Käsekönner" are also on the training plan.

Director Martina Bombardelli was proud of the achievements of her students provided: inside and thanked the team for the continuously good results. The success of the "Junior Master Chef" and the versatile training courses at the specialist profession are clear proof that the course is set in Landeck for a promising future in tourism and in the catering trade.
