Wörgl relies on sustainability: New electric vehicle for food delivery!

In Wörgl, the signs are on environmental protection and social responsibility: the health and social sprinklers have strengthened its commitment to people in need by handing over a new, sustainable delivery vehicle. On July 3, the new electric car was officially handed over by representatives of the Rotary Club Wörgl-Brixental and the Lions Club Wörgl. This environmentally friendly vehicle will support the daily delivery of food for around 60 people who are dependent on this help. Another sign of positive change: the old vehicle, which was in use for more than 11 years and was able to deliver over 160,000 meals, is now replaced by a modern Peugeot with an electric drive.

The new electric vehicle is not only a step towards sustainability, it also offers space for 60 meal boxes and contributes to the departure of fossil fuels. This vehicle replaces an older diesel vehicle and is jointly financed by the municipal utilities and the municipality of Wörgl, with an environmental funding of 4,000 euros from the state.

The commitment to electromobility is supported by the "Social and Mobile" funding program of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Security. This enables social institutions such as the Wörgler health and social sprinklers to maintain cheaper leasing conditions and at the same time reduce their CO2 emissions. As part of this initiative, funding of up to 10,000 euros per vehicle is even possible, which makes it much easier to purchase additional electric vehicles, according to the funding portal.
