Water defense performance competition in Schärding: Fire brigade shows top class!

Schärding, Österreich - An exciting weekend experiences Schärding at the 63rd Upper Austria. State Water Procedure Performance competition, which took place on the picturesque innkeeper on June 13 and 14, 2025. At constant water levels of 3.90 meters, the 1,050 zille crews were put through their paces. The unique route, which included demanding passages such as the passage of the old Innbrücke and the tour around the "monastery island", was a special challenge for many. Participation was not only from Upper Austria, but also from Zillen crews from Lower Austria, Salzburg, Styria and Bavaria, which also enriched the competition.

The large number of participants should be particularly emphasized: a total of 382 bronze, 301 silver and 367 of a toilet crew competed. The skillful water defenders had to prove a combination of skill and endurance, which not only offered a sporty but also an impressive spectacle. Visitors' interest was high, which was reflected in the fully occupied ranks. Among the spectators were guests of honor such as fire department councilor Michaela Langer-Weninger and State Councilor Michael Lindner, who emphasized the importance of the water brigades in the fire brigade.

The firefighters from Dietach were allowed to win the team ranking, followed by the teams from St. Peter am Hart and Landshaag. The Schärdingen hosts could shine in particular: Martin Haas (bronze A) and Wolfgang Rakaseder (bronze B) scored the first places in the one. The zillen drivers Christian Köck and Florian Reidinger also provided impressive results with 3rd and 5th places (silver A and bronze A). Florian Reidinger rounded off the successful weekend by taking the 4th place in one. A total of seven Schärdinger firefighters were awarded a performance badge in silver and bronze.

But also the Zillen crews from the Vöcklabruck district mixed properly. The Zille of the Windern 1 fire brigade reached the 8th place in the general bronze class. In addition, Christian Nöhammer stood the competition in a class and made it to the 15th place.

Another highlight in the region is waiting with the third Bundeswasserwehr performance competition, which takes place on September 16, 2023 in Lebring. This event is held on the Mur and not only offers exciting competitions, but also entertainment by the well -known band Edlseern. A performance show from various operational organizations also ensures that the audience also gets their money's worth. This competition is an excellent opportunity to appreciate the capabilities of the water departments in Austria.
