Corpus Christi procession in Wernstein: Faith and community shine!

Wernstein, Österreich - On June 19, 2025, Wernstein experienced a colorful festival in the sign of faith. The Corpus Christi procession, which is celebrated on Pentecost on the second Thursday, attracted numerous believers and interested parties. When the weather was fantastic, the parish proudly presented its faith in a festive procession. The train was led by parish administrator Jan Jakubiak, who wore the Blessed Sacrament in the monstrance.

Special highlights of the event were the four altars that were set up along the way: at the Marian column, at the municipal office, on the church square and in the parish church of St. Georg. At each of the stations, the Holy Gospel was announced, spoken and given the blessing. Four men wore the magnificent canopy made of valuable procrades, which was attached to artistically decorated poles and protected the monstrance.

The festive procession was musically accompanied by the Wernstein traditional music band, while the volunteer fire brigade, the gold hood women, first communion children, the church choir and many citizens actively participated.
