IT camp in the tent: Students experience nature and cyber security up close!

Traun, Österreich - A very special project saw the light of day at the HTBla Traun: In the penultimate school week, the teachers organized the first edition of an IT camp, and the whole thing does not take place in the classroom, but under the open sky on the grounds of the Scouts Traun/Oedt. On the initiative of teacher Peter Kohlendorfer, a new form of learning is being tested here, which offers both the students and teachers exciting opportunities.

As a project manager, Michael Jacobi-Probst and Peter Wagenhuber also act in addition to Kohlendorfer. The IT camp is aimed at students who want to prepare for the recognized cyber security certification Comptia+ (SY0-701). This certification can not only improve the career opportunities enormously, but also offers the necessary basics to evaluate cyber security and develop solutions for potential security incidents. Ironhack also has the option of taking this test free of charge, making access to this important certificate easier. According to Ironhack , the course content is comprehensive and cover all necessary skills.

come together and promote exchange

Learning takes place in a specially built IT tent, equipped with modern computers and WLAN. In the evening, parents, scouts, teachers and students gather around the campfire to strengthen the community spirit. Not only discusses here, but also laughed and the fascination for the technology is shared together. Mayor Karl-Heinz Koll and City Marketing Managing Director Andreas Protil visited the camp and were visibly impressed by this innovative approach.

Another important aspect of the camp is the sense of responsibility of the students. The young participants take on the task of building up their tents themselves and organizing parts of the camp independently. This practical experience ensures that the students not only acquire theoretical knowledge, but also develop important social skills.

cybsecurity in focus

The topic of cyber security is becoming increasingly important. At a time when digital attacks are becoming increasingly common, it is essential to train future specialists in a targeted manner. The Ironhack course is not only very popular because of its content, but also because the recognition by various supervisory authorities offers security. Over three million comptia ISO/ANSI-certified exams speak for themselves and show the trust that skills and companies put in these certificates.

In addition to the courses offered in Austria, there are also a variety of IT boat camps in Europe, as offered by Clarity in riga, for example. In addition to SAP programming, Python is also taught here and a wide range of IT knowledge is conveyed. The camp in Traun could be seen as a small but important puzzle piece in this large educational landscape.

With the combination of practical experience and modern teaching approach, the HTBla Traun shows how future -oriented learning can also succeed in the digital age. The students are encouraged to be curious and to take responsibility - and all in the middle of nature.
