A serious incident occurred on Sunday evening in the garage of a property in the Freistadt district when three boys made a bicycle aged 13 and 14. The aim of the creative activity was to grow an engine to the wheel. In doing so, they unintentionally sparked a fire that had serious consequences. According to Kurier and Nachrichten.at the youngsters filled a benzingemic into two open plastic containers and worked with a soldering lamp. The petrol vapors inflamed themselves and led to a large fire in the garage.
In a desperate attempt, one of the 13-year-old tried to wear the burning container out of the garage, but had to give up due to the heat and dropped it. Fortunately, all three young people were able to escape from the garage via a side entrance door. The father of one of the boys stepped towards action and deleted the fire with a hand -fire extinguisher, which prevented worse things.injuries and medical care
Despite the rapid intervention, one of the 13-year-old suffered serious injuries and was flown to the Vienna Akh with a rescue helicopter. The second youth was brought to the hospital in Linz by the Red Cross and is treated there on the normal ward of pediatric and youth surgery. The 14-year-old was unharmed, while the members of the affected boys received support from the crisis intervention team.
