New coaching duo brings a breath of fresh air to SC Zwettl!

Zwettl, Österreich - The SC Sparkasse Zwettl has committed a new coaching duo for his men's fighting team with Philipp Riederer and Stefan Kerzig. This change gives fans and those responsible for an exciting season. After all, the two trainers already have valuable experience that they have gained in regional football.

Philipp Riederer, 33 years old, began his coaching career in tranquil Krems before he moved to Horn. There he took over the head coach position at SV Horn in the 2nd league in 2022 and led the team to 4th place in the first year-the best placement of the club's history. Riederer stayed as a professional trainer at SV Horn until November 2024, where he made a name for himself as a talented trainer.

his new colleague, the 32-year-old Stefan Kerzig, was previously active as head coach at FC Rohrendorf. Kerzig and Riederer know each other well: they already worked together at SV Horn, with Kerzig playing the role of the assistant coach and game analysts. The newly formed coaching team will now lead the national league men of SC Zwettl to the next season.

The player born in 2005 comes from the Zwettl district and started his career at the USC Schweiggers before moving to SV Horn in 2018. In the past two years, Tarko has played for the second team of SV Horn in the 2nd Landesliga Ost, where he was able to develop into a regular and top performer. This acquisition could give the team the necessary fresh wind.

The efforts to develop coaching are an important topic in the Austrian football landscape. It is not only progressing at SC Zwettl, investments are also made at the national level. The DFB and the DFL have launched a project for individual trainer development, which is in full swing for the 2024/2025 season. The aim is to further develop talented club trainers individually and specifically between their license stages. This is done by regional trainer developers who are supposed to accompany young coaches and create an optimal learning environment. In addition to support in coaching and mentoring, a new edition of the "Management in Professional Ball" certificate is also planned.
