Neos Hainburg demands a new bus connection for schools and castles!
In the Hainburg region, there is movement in the air, because the NEOS are committed to a new bus connection that is supposed to combine schools, clinics and tourist hotspots such as the Hof Castle. NEOS councilor Martina Bednar sees the initiative as urgently necessary. "With the growth of the region, the need for a better offer in public transport also increases," explains Bednar and highlights the positive effects for commuters, students and the tourism industry. There is already a bus line between Hainburg and Kittsee, but the proposal provides for an optional expansion to the popular Hof Castle to further improve accessibility.
Despite the preliminary cancellation from Növog to the plans, the motivation remains high. The municipalities of Bad Deutsch-Altenburg, Hainburg and Marchegg show great interest in the new connection, and discussions with potential sponsors are underway. The region could not only benefit from the growth of tourism, but also from additional means for sustainable mobility, as outlined in the 2030 mobility master plan.
Mobility turnaround and their challenges
The mobility master plan 2030 has ambitious goals: he wants to avoid, shift and improve traffic. A central concern is the strengthening of the environmental association, including foot and cycling and local transport. "Combating the climate crisis in the traffic sector presents us with great challenges," says in expert groups. In order to achieve the desired climate neutrality by 2040, clear framework conditions and committed implementation programs are required. The European Green Deal supports the mobility transition in Austria.
But not only the growing population in the region requires changes, but also the current developments through digitization and pandemic. The premises for a socially just, safe and environmentally friendly traffic are still valid. The mobility master plan combines traffic avoidance, shift and increase in efficiency in order to significantly reduce CO2 emissions and increase energy efficiency.
a step in the right direction
The efforts of the NEOS in Hainburg are therefore part of a larger puzzle that continues to strive for future -oriented solutions in public transport. The additional approach for a bus connection to the Hof Castle shows how important it is to recognize and tackle regional needs. Information on the arrival to the Hof Castle also offer a valuable addition for the tourists who want to explore the beauty of the region.
The developments are not only relevant locally, but also an exciting example of how mobility and environmental protection can go hand in hand. Let's be excited to see how the talks between the communities and sponsors will develop and whether the first bus will soon drive over the new routes.
