Pan apples and mulberry trees: Neusiedl plants for a green morning

Wolf Stockinger, known as a Pannonian garden prophet, has launched an exciting new project: planting pomegranate and mulberry tree seedlings! Together with the building yard team and Mayor Heinrich Hareter, 20 fruit trees have already been planted in public space and at the cemetery. Grenades are not only connected to love and resurrection in Greek mythology, they also bring an interesting symbolism with it. The planting in the cemetery gives this background a deeper meaning.

Stockinger, who has been warning tirelessly of the challenges of climate change for years, supported the municipalities of Nickelsdorf, Zurndorf, Gattendorf, Jois and Weiden in the selection of heat and dry-resistant plants. However, the campaign is only the beginning: For the coming year, Stockinger plans to plant at least 200 other fruit trees in order to continue to take into account the values of the community. Mayor Hareter was grateful for the tree donations and the active support of the Bauhof team, which are of great importance in this environmentally friendly initiative.

The role of climate change

In view of the increasingly noticeable climate change, the selection of the right plants is of crucial importance. An urban environment must face the growing challenges such as heat, dryness and heavy rain. rbb24 reports that the Senate has to reproduce a coated tree mandatory. This shows once again how important the protection of our urban habitats is.

The symbolism of the pomegranates, paired with a clear plan for adapting to climate change, gives hope that such projects not only bloom through nature, but also the sense of community. Thanks to the commitment of forces such as Wolf Stockinger and his fellow campaigners, we can actively and creatively counteract the impending dangers of climate change.
