Neighborhood Center Landstrasse: Celebrate 45 years!
A very special event took place on July 10, 2025 in our district: the neighborhood center 3 celebrated its 45th anniversary. Here, not only tea is drunk and chattered, but also concretely the cohesion and harmonious coexistence among people are encouraged. The celebrations attracted visitors to all ages and origin and offered a full program with homemade delicacies, a wheel of fortune, a creative art project, face painting and many stimulating conversations.
During the festival, the head of the center, Mag. Jenny Reuter, did not miss the impressive work of over 80 volunteers. These committed helpers not only organize sports offers, but also lead German groups, support older people in flea markets and visit - and all of this on a voluntary basis. Sabine Amer, the director of the Vienna aid organization, emphasized the essential role of solidarity and community in her speech. District Councilor Maria Taramona also looked back on her own positive experience, which she was allowed to do in the center when she arrived in Vienna. It is impressive to see how the neighborhood facility is not only considered a meeting point, but also as an integrative support for new trainers.
The neighborhood center offers free social and health advice not only for the 3rd, 10th and 11th district, but for all of Vienna. There is a diverse range of activities that comprises creative workshops, walks in Prater and philosophical cafés. A real meeting point for young and old!
