Students show their talent of speech at the 2025 speech competition!
On Wednesday, June 4, 2025, an enthusiastic audience gathered for the fifth edition of the speech competition at the middle school in Zams. Pupils from different grades had the opportunity to demonstrate the jury their speeches. At this event, which was opened by Harald Ehrlich, the headmaster, the focus was not only on the ability to speak, but also the importance of this key competence for the personal and professional development of young people.
Various diversity of topics
The topics of the speeches were as varied as the participants themselves. First classes showed their skills with book presentations, while students in the second and third classes dealt with freely chosen social, historical or personal issues. The fourth classes performed health and social issues in the form of free speeches. It should be emphasized that some of the speeches have been kept in English, which underlined the multilingualism and language skills of young people. This diversity was perceived by the jury, consisting of VD Karin Prantauer and Mayor DI Reinhard Raggl, as a great strength of this competition.
The way to the final
The participants who made it to the final had previously had to go through an in -school excretion. The jury agreed on the assessment: "It was a really difficult task because all participants were the winners." The event was supported by Kathrin Huber from Landeck TV, which filmed and documented the impressive performance.

multilingualism as a topic
The importance of multilingualism is also "more spoken - more we!" highlighted, which started on October 8, 2024. Here, students from the 7th grade can demonstrate their skills in two languages. The young people are invited to express their opinions in bilingual speeches and thus demonstrate their language skills. This competition, organized by the German Children's and Youth Foundation, promotes linguistic diversity and is supported by various institutions. All details can be found on the Foundation's website: dkjs.de .
The speech competition in ZAMS and the other initiatives nationwide make it clear how important the development of language skills is for young people.
