Best paper awards 2025: Historical work inspire in Innsbruck!
Museumsstraße 4, 6020 Innsbruck, Österreich - On June 10, 2025, the atmosphere in Wagner’s bookstore in Innsbruck was electrifying. The publication of the 17th edition of Historia.Scribere attracted numerous visitors: inside, who were interested in the newnesses from the world of historical science. At the public award ceremony, the best student work was awarded, a highlight for everyone involved and above all the committed students.
A total of 35 work took part in this competition, 13 of which successfully passed the demanding peer review process. In the end, twelve authors were able to: In addition to a prize, they also received the recognition of their fellow students with their work, which covered all six historical core subjects. A particularly large number of proseminar work were highlighted as best practice examples, which underlines the high quality of the submitted contributions.
The winners: inside
The coveted best paper awards went to three talented students: Moritz Moosmayer, Markus Buchmaier and Hansjörg Härdtner were awarded for their outstanding work. In addition, ten other students received runner-up awards, including Georg Ebster, Florian Maizner and Sajra Ljubijankić, who were also able to distinguish themselves with their contributions.
This successful event would not have been possible without the support of many partners. The editor: Inner team, consisting of the experienced Ute Hasenöhrl and Eva Pfanzelter as well as the new members Maximilian Gröber, Nikolaus Hagen, Manuel Schmidinger and Wolfgang Wanek, did an excellent job and the moderation of the award ceremony took over Nikolaus Hagen, Manuel Schmidinger and Luzie Seelig.

The plans for the 18th edition of Historia.Scribere are already in full swing, entries are possible from autumn 2025. If you want to take the chance to present your scientific work, you have to be aware of the upcoming submission period: Submissions are possible until December 1, 2024. The work should have been rated in the last four semesters with "very good (1)" or "good/very good (2/1)".
For students who are striving for a practical experience, there is the opportunity to apply for an internship in the editorial team. These unpaid internships offer between 5 and 10 ECTs and running from November to June.
The event would not only be shaped by the award winners: inside and their work, but also by gratitude towards all supporters. The historical institutes, the Faculty of Philosophy, the Vice Rectorate for Research and Teaching, as well as the Wagner’s bookstore have contributed significantly to implementation.
