New wind at the Lions Club Weiz: Michael Kothgasser takes over!
In the Lions Club Weiz there is a fresh wind: Loukas Strangas has given up his presidential office and Michael Kothgasser, who comes from the wine industry and is also a teacher, took the lead. The official handover took place in the Gasthof Ederer, where numerous members of the club came together to celebrate the change. In his last speech, Strangas emphasized the successes of the past year, including numerous charity events and social projects carried out in the district. His successor Kothgasser was pleased with the new task in his inaugural speech and immediately made it clear that the responsible handling of the office is important to him. Kothgasser underlined that all members are volunteer and get involved in their free time to do good.
The story of the Lions Club Weiz is associated with a clear goal. Since its foundation in 1980, the club has had around 38 members who take care of people in need unbureaucratically and quickly in the district. The motto "We Serve" by Lions Clubs International, the global organization, which also includes the Lions Club Weiz, reflects the commitment of the members. These are committed to social justice, education and humanitarian aid, not only in Austria, but worldwide. The Lions Clubs International Foundation grants well -founded support for humanitarian projects, and events such as cabarets and concerts are also organized in Weiz to collect money for a good cause, because where public aid is too slow or inadequate, the Lions intervene.
planned events and commitment
The Lions Club Weiz will also be active in the coming months. A highlight is already around the corner: On August 8, the club will be represented at the AIM's concert, and a benefit cabaret will take place on November 12th. These events are not only opportunities to collect money, but also to strengthen the community and show social engagement. For everyone who wants to support the club, it is important to know that donations are always welcome. The donation account is: AT48 3818 7000 0004 6854.
Michael Kothgasser and the members of the Lions Club Weiz are ready to continue the tradition of helpfulness and continue the legacy of Strangas with joy and commitment. The Lions Clubs, also internationally recognized as one of the largest non -governmental organizations, never remove from their original goal: help for self -help. The association has millions of members worldwide and is also committed to child and youth projects as well as for help for visually impaired people. It is not just a club, but a movement for social justice.
The Lions are also very popular in Weiz, and it remains exciting what the future will bring. The Weizer Lions promise to remain active in the future and continue to work for the people in their region. "We won't let up to help where it is necessary," says Kothgasser.
