Kapfensteiner cycling marathon breaks record - over 500 participants for a good cause!

Kapfenstein, Österreich - Last weekend Kapfenstein was again a coveted meeting point for cycling enthusiasts when the traditional benefit cycling marathon went into its 19th round. Over 500 participants strapped the helmets and struggled for a good cause. This strong participation immediately set a new record. The flow of the event flows to the oncology of the LKH Graz, where it is urgently needed for research projects and patient care, such as meinzirk.at reported.

As in previous years, the participants were able to choose between three distant distances: 113 km for the sporty, 65 km for ambitious hobby cyclists and 35 km, which were perfect for families with children. These routes led through the picturesque volcanic country, known for its many climbs and spectacular views. Helmut Hackl, the organizer of the event, was happy about the enormous support of around 90 volunteers who ensured a smooth process on this day.

a look into the past

In the past 18 years, an impressive 88,400 euros have been collected, all of which serve a good cause. The association for cancer, which was founded in 1992, is tirelessly committed to promoting cancer research and ensuring proper care for affected patients. This commitment is all the more relevant, since often secured and sustainable financial resources are missing, as Krebshilfe.de shows.

The highlight of the cycling marathon was a profit draw in which a new bike was raffled off as the main prize. Participants and visitors were also able to look forward to a large number of culinary delights that rounded off the day. The technical course of the event was consistently praised, and Reg. Rat Nikolaus Koller also thanked the Hackl family and all helpers' commitment.

The way to cancer research

The support of events such as the Kapfenstein cycling marathon is essential for cancer research. Public funded funds are often not sufficient to sustainably promote projects. The need for private financing is increasingly greater, and so it remains important that innovative events continue to take place that raise awareness of cancer and the need for research funds.

The Kapfensteiner cycling marathon is not only a sporting event, but also a strong sign of solidarity and the joint attack in strengthening cancer research and care. An event that makes a big difference for both the participants and for those affected by cancer.
