Rosa Gödl from DoBl-Zwaring: Styrian shines at the World Cup in Japan!

The anticipation is increasing in the small community of Dobl-Zwaring, because Rosa Gödl will be the only Styrian to compete in the upcoming Rope Skiping World Cup in Kawasaki, Japan. From July 27 to August 3, 2023, around 2,500 athletes from 36 nations gather, and Rosa, which is only 14 years old, will compete in three individual disciplines in the juniors category: Speed Sprint, Endurance and Freestyle. Your personal record in the Speed Sprint is impressive 74 jumps in just 30 seconds, which corresponds to 148 drives. That means potentially a very hot iron in competition.

The talented athlete has been active in jumping rope for seven years. Her first contact with this sport took place in 2018 at the Austrian championships in their home community. Since then she has not only gained experience, but has also deepened her passion for this dynamic sport. Rosa trains in the Sportunion DoBl-Zwaring association and at the Happy Skippers Graz, where she and her trainer Silke Fürnschuss work intensively on the World Cup. Daily training in the hall or at home is part of routine.

challenges and training effort

How many athletes also had to overcome some challenges. A Corona-related forced break and an injury initially prevented you from acting actively in competitions. But the past four years have been shaped by hard work and competition experiences, which she can now use in Japan.

The World Cup is an enormous competition, and Rosa will have to prove itself under the eyes of international competition. But with her family's tailwind, which she will accompany them to Japan, it could certainly cause surprises. It will be exciting to see how it strikes against the global elite.

secondary benefit of jumping rope

jumping rope is not only a gripping sport, but also proves to be effective training for other disciplines. A study at a sports institute shows that eight-week rope jumping training can make significant improvements in the leader jump. The participants reported a greater dance distance and an increased speed of the center of gravity. This suggests that jumping rope serves as a variety of training and can therefore also be invaluable for pink to strengthen their skills in the competition.

Overall, the World Cup in Japan will probably be an exciting event, not only for pink, but also for the entire domestic rope jumping community. Many athletes from Austria have qualified, a total of 28 athletes will be there in various disciplines, which shows how far this sport is common in this country.

The small community Dobl-Zwaring can be proud of her representative, who wants to show what is made on the big stage with commitment and can show what she is made of. We press pink all the best for the upcoming competitions and are looking forward to your experiences in Japan!
