Hans-Jürgen Novak succeeds as a section commander!
On June 6, 2025, the new election of the section commander for the Eibiswald section took place in the armory of the Pitschgau-Haselbach fire brigade. This comprises 13 fire brigades with a total of 787 members and is the largest section in the area of fire brigade association Deutschlandsberg. After Karl Koch left the age of 65 after almost 14 years as a section commander, Hans-Jürgen Novak by the Hörmsdorf fire brigade was elected as his successor. 24 out of 26 people entitled to vote took part in the election, in which Novak was elected as the new section commander with 22 votes.
Area fire brigade commander OBR Josef Gaich, supported by HBI d.v. Thomas Stopper, HBI Thomas Schnepf and HBI Christian Lind, headed the choice and congratulated the new commander as well as Labg. Mayor Andreas Thürschweller and the outgoing section commander Karl Koch. At the end of the evening, the market town of Eibiswald and the two commanders invited to a sociable get -together.

The military assembly of the Hörmsdorf fire brigade on March 9, 2024 offered an excellent opportunity to appreciate the achievements of the past 12 months. The firefighters made a total of almost 9,000 hours for the safety of the population. A moving minute's commemoration and a film for the 100th anniversary of the fire brigade initiated the event. The guests of honor were present, among other things, the 1st VBGM. Werner Schnegg and the two fire brigade commanders OBR Josef Gaich and Abi Karl Koch.
A total of numerous awards were awarded during the meeting. This includes the Cross of Merit in Bronze for Obi Hans-Jürgen Novak and LM Benjamin Winkler as well as various awards for many years of work and special achievements. Particularly noteworthy are the commemorative medals for flood and storm operations that have been awarded to several members.

With this background it becomes clear how crucial the commitment, work and cohesion of the firefighters are for the safety of the population.
