One -handed regatta in Zell am See: exciting duels on the water!

Zell am See, Österreich - On July 5, 2025, this year's one -handed regatta of the Zell am See Yacht Club (YCZ) took place in a breathtaking backdrop on Lake Zell. A total of 16 participants from near and far took part in the exciting competition, which devoted himself entirely to sailing with one -hand boats. In the case of wind conditions between 2 and 4 Beaufort, five exciting races were held, which offered a true competition of the talent. Race director Thomas Körmer praised the exemplary discipline of the sailors and the excellent conditions, which were given despite slight challenges during the race. The starting line was easily visible in front of the lake promenade in Zell am See and numerous spectators, which provided a great atmosphere.

Wolfgang Reisinger from the YCZ secured a special place in the overall ranking. He triumphed from Walter Flechhutz from SSG Rottachsee and Hermann Kupfner, also from the YCZ. In the special class rating of the Seggerlings there was an exciting head-to-head race between Reisinger and Flechhutz, which was marked in the final score by the same score (6 points each). Fleeschhutz nevertheless managed to emerge, especially after an outstanding last run.

The regatta was not only a sporting event, but also a social event. The evening before, there was a welcome evening in which Wolfgang Reisinger's participants were received. A sociable get -together in beer and stimulating conversations about wind and waves set the perfect framework for the upcoming races. The boats started on Saturday with a light north wind, which ultimately refreshed up to 4 BFT and offered exciting conditions for the sailors. After the races, the participants came to the award ceremony in the Lake Camp, followed by a social dinner - a welcome opportunity to review the experiences of the day.

The one -handed regatta was only the start of further exciting events on Lake Zeller. The youth sail week will take place from July 14th to 18th, 2025, followed by the club and naval championship from July 25th to 27th, 2025.
