Hallein celebrates: 1,600 children on the exciting salt crystal run!

In Hallein you can look back on this year's salt crystal run, which has established itself as one of the largest sporting events in the state. On June 23, 2025, impressive 1,600 children took part in this colorful sporting event, although no higher number of participants was possible due to safety regulations. The event stretched over various classes, with 14 different competition categories for the young athletes being offered: seven for girls and seven for boys. The age group was just as diverse - from the smallest participants aged three years to the oldest runners who were already 14 years old.

The chairman of the Schlotterer Hallein ski club, Walter Alber, is proud of and thanks the city of Hallein and other supporters such as the farm, the Sparkasse and the Schauer Schauer for their generous help. The support of the police, which contributed to the security of the event, is particularly emphasized. The helpers and supporters who stood aside during the structure and during the event also deserves a big thank you.

Next activity for young and old

But that's not all - the next exciting event of the ski club will come to the fore on June 29. The Salzhallenge will offer the participants the opportunity to either hike, run or travel from Hallein to Halleiner Skihütte by bike. Not only the athletes themselves are challenged here, bakers are also called up to support with delicious cakes and tarts. Walter Alber emphasizes that every helping hand is welcome: "We urgently need support, so this event will be a complete success."

The salt crystal run and the Salz Challenge are more than just athletic highlights - they promote the sense of community and show how important community events are for the region. Organizers such as the Hallein ski club seem to do their best to inspire both children and adults for sport and to promote the joy of movement.
