Upper Austria in motion: over 7 million minutes at Gemma-Challenge!
Vöcklabruck, Österreich - Today is June 28, 2025 and Upper Austria is on the move! The Upper Austria Movement Challenge Gemma, which started on April 27, celebrates an impressive success with a half-time record of 7 million active minutes. Health Councilor Christine Haberlander is pleased about the high participation and emphasizes that over 8,600 participants, around 6,200 from 373 municipalities, actively participate in the Challenge. The goal of the initiative is clear: promoting movement as part of a healthy lifestyle.
By the way, the challenge runs until August 4th and all fellow citizens are cordially invited to participate. The moving minutes are recorded via the Spusu Sport app, which makes participation particularly easy. Here, the time together counts per community, regardless of the individual services of the participants. In addition to activities such as walking, running, cycling and hiking, it is a large community act that not only promotes health, but also strengthens the feeling of belonging.

A look at the rankings shows that the municipality of Frankenmarkt has already reached the fantastic 4th place in Upper Austria with 107,689 minutes of movement. Weißenkirchen in the Attergau ends up in 9th place with 88,166 minutes, while the same bruner is 34th with 46,627 minutes. This shows how diverse and committed the participants from the individual regions.

The challenge is duly celebrated with a final event, in which cash prizes are also awarded for the ten most active communities. In addition, all active participants have the chance of attractive prices. An excellent way to reward your own fitness!
