Linz starts from July: Exciting swimming courses for children!
Linz, Österreich - Summer is just around the corner and with it the opportunity to learn swimming in Linz! Linz AG Bäder offer summer swimming courses especially for children between the ages of 4 and 8 in July and August. Diese Kurse sind ideal für die Kleinsten, die noch keine Vorkenntnisse haben und spielerisch den Umgang mit Wasser kennenlernen möchten, wie meinbezirk.at berichtet.
The summer swimming courses cost 168 euros, but parents who have an active pass can look forward to a discount of 50%. The aim of the courses is to give the children a feeling of security in the water and to learn the first swimming techniques. In doing so, you will learn to turn on your back in the water, dive and swim in a deep water range from 5 to 10 meters.
course details and registration
The courses consist of five units, each with 1.5 hours a week from Monday to Friday. So that the children can learn optimally, it is important that they take part in class independently and that no accompanying persons are brought. The registration deadline is always the Monday before the start of the course, whereby only one registration for a course per child is allowed. The course fee must be paid on the first day at the pool fund.
The different courses are distributed in the Linz bathing oases:
- Fitnessoase Parkbad: 14 courses between July 21 and August 29, 2025
- wellness oasis Hummelhof: 8 courses between July 7 and August 29, 2025
- Family oasis Biesenfeld: 13 courses between July 7 and August 22, 2025
- adventure oasis Schörgenhub: 10 courses between July 28 and August 22, 2025
An overview of the specific courses and their times can also be found on the website of Linz AG, where interested parents can easily register their children online. It should be noted that a course only takes place from a minimum number of six participants, which contributes to the fact that the children receive individual attention and the learning progress can be carried out quickly, such as [linzag.at] (https://www.linzag.at/Portal/start.app?id=42&nav=/de/privatkunden/freiszeit/schwimmen/schwimmkurs_stadt_stadt_stadt_linz.xhtml&formidapp42=lag formletfrontend5) supplemented.
Why swimming is so important
swimming is not only an important life competence, but also has a significant impact on the safety of children in the water. In other cities, such as Berlin, learning to swim is even part of the curriculum at primary schools. It turns out that children who feel comfortable in the water take part in swimming courses with joy and curiosity. Targeted habituation of water and the first basics of swimming technique are the keys for a safe handling of water, as learned from further information on swimming here (see family portal.berlin.de).
The Linz AG not only offers a great opportunity for children to learn the floating basics, but also ensures that they feel comfortable in a safe and playful environment. Parents can therefore walk to register with a good feeling and enable their children to have this valuable ability.
