Sisterhood instead of competition: Together for strong women's networks!

In the Linz-Land district, the OÖVP women have organized an impressive network evening under the motto "Sisterhood instead of competition". This event took place on June 24, 2025 in the Heinrich Gleißner-Haus in Linz and bundles numerous women from different areas of life to fortify and exchange each other. Among the participants were also top-class representatives, including state chairwoman Cornelia Pöttinger, the managing director Elisabeth Bauer and the ÖVP women's secretary Stephanie Lamezan-Salins. The member of the state parliament Helena Kirchmayr was also on site.

In her opening speech,

Cornelia Pöttinger emphasized the importance of strong networks for women and was certain: "Sisterhood is not a phrase for us, but an attitude." Women's solidarity should be capitalized here, because the evening was drawn by appreciation, connection and the common progress. Keynote speaker Elisabeth Spitzenberger spoke about the revolutionary power of sisterly connections and emphasized how important support and cooperation are in order to promote realistically positive changes.

strengthening by networks

The event attracted numerous interested women from all over Upper Austria and offered the room to step into the exchange with other women. The motto of the hour could be “moving more together”, because the focus was on the open exchange and personal getting to know each other. Juliane Bogner-Strauß, Federal Leader of the ÖVP women, put their own responsibility and the need for equality in the foreground.

As underlining the Federal Foundation Equality, institutional mechanisms of equality policy are crucial in order to promote gender equality. This fits perfectly with the goals of the OÖVP women who want to maintain and create solidarity networks. The mutual strengthening that is practiced in Linz-Land could serve as a prime example of other regions.

In a modern environment in which women in society face various challenges, the message remains clear and clear: a strong network is the key to individual and communal success. This is the spirit that the OÖVP women maintain and for which you will continue to fight in all your future events.

For everyone who is interested in future actions by the OÖVP women, the events are free of charge, but registration is required. If you have any questions about registration, interested parties (https://oevpfrauen.at/presse/artikel/sisterhood-statt-krt-ketz-t-der-frauen-in-ooevp/) can learn more.
