Austria's first self -service beer fountain opens in Kirchberg!
Kirchberg-Thening, Österreich - In Kirchberg-Thering something exciting: On July 18, 2025, the first self-service fountain in Austria was ceremoniously inaugurated. The idea comes from the landlady Jasmin Enengl, who brought an innovative concept to the region to revive the gastronomy after Corona pandemic. The self -service beer fountain is a cooperation between the brewing union and Linz beer, which not only provides fresh beer, but also shortens waiting times for the guests.
The beer fountain offers guests the opportunity to select between 0.3 and 0.5 liters of their favorite beer and to pay this conveniently digitally. A welcome relief for everyone who is in a hurry or just want to provide supplies themselves. The company is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. "Bierbrunnen Hopfenquelle Kirchberg" is the name of the good piece-a name selected by the community.
The future model for gastronomy
The self -service beer fountain should not only remain unique: As early as August 2025, ten other beer fountain in the region and in the first production round a total of 50 beer self -supporting models are to be realized across Austria. These new wells will also be equipped with two roots - one for beer and one for sprayed. Enengl believes that the self -service beer fountain could also serve as an ideal solution for standing parties and events.
The introduction of the prototype has already achieved series production. There is still a financial incentive for everyone who likes to enjoy self -tapped beer: this is 10 percent cheaper than in the tavern. The idea not only relieves the restaurateurs, but also offers a refreshing drinking experience for visitors.
A trend in beer management
The event comes at a time when organic beers in Germany and Austria are becoming more and more focus. According to a current blog from the brewing union, more and more households are relying on sustainable products. This development is also evident at the Gösser brewery, which recently presented its new organic bearing beer named Gösser Biostoff. This beer is made from high-quality organic raw materials from Austria and is aimed primarily at the younger generation, which maintains great pieces for sustainability.
The fact that about half of Austrian households prefer organic products cannot be overlooked. Clear advantages are the environmentally friendly reusable packaging and the use of regional ingredients that also reduce CO2 footprint. This shows the growing trend, which, in addition to enjoyment, also demands ecological responsibility. Organic beers benefit from modern brewing techniques and enjoy increasing importance in environmentally conscious beer lovers.
Overall, it can be seen that Kirchberg-Thering is on the right track with the first self-service beer fountain to further enrich the beer culture in Austria and at the same time implement forward-looking concepts for the catering trade.
